About the ISVMA

The Illinois Veterinary Medical Foundation

Please make a contribution to the Illinois Veterinary Medical Foundation. You can download and print a contribution form or use the secure online contribution form at the bottom of this page.

Your contribution is tax deductible and will support programs and projects that benefit the profession and raise awareness of the importance of veterinary medicine.

 

The ISVMA Board of Directors has authorized up to $10,000 in a matching grant initiative to encourage support of the IVMF. The matching grant initiative will match all contributions to the IVMF made before June 30, 2008. In other words, if you give $100 the ISVMA will match your contribution and the value of your contribution will be doubled!

The Illinois Veterinary Medical Foundation (IVMF) supports the ISVMA and helps the ISVMA develop charitable programs related to the veterinary medical profession.

The IVMF has been involved with the following projects:

  1. Helped establish the Dr. Walter E. Zuschlag/ISVMA Veterinary Heritage Collection and Information Commons at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine.

    The Veterinary Heritage Collection is as a place for veterinary students to study surrounded by hundreds of artifacts and documents that bring to life the everyday efforts and extraordinary achievements of Illinois veterinary practitioners, educators, and researchers.

    Chronicling the history of veterinary medicine for the students, alumni, and public, this collection affirms the important contribution of veterinary medicine in the past and its relevance for the future protection of the health and welfare of animals and the public.

    It is located on the second floor of the Veterinary Medicine Basic Sciences Building at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, just outside the Office of Academic and Student Affairs, where students converge daily.

  2. Building endowments for annual scholarships to each of the four ISVMA class representatives. Each of the four scholarships is for $1000 for each of four years. Two of these scholarships are named in honor of Dr. John T. Creasey and Dr. Clint L. Franks.
  3. Donated a new sign to the ISVMA to affix to their new headquarters. The sign is visible to thousands of passing motorists each day and helps establish a positive impression of the veterinary profession in the Capitol City.
  4. Building a reserve for the maintenance of the ISVMA headquarters. The purpose of the reserve will be to provide a source of funding to take care of irregular but expected maintenance issues such as replacement of a heating/cooling system, repaving the parking lot, installing a new roof, etc.

The IVMF is a tax-exempt charitable foundation under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. All contributions to the IVMF are tax deductible.
