Qualifications for the position include a DVM or equivalent degree, ability to practice as a licensed veterinarian in Indiana, and a minimum of two years of primary care medicine, surgery, and dentistry experience.
The successful candidate will have an interest in dentistry and support the expansion of the dentistry service.
Preference will be given to applicants who are board certified in the American Board of Veterinary Practice (Canine/Feline or other pet species), or another relevant AVMA recognized specialty.
If not board certified, the successful candidate will be expected to obtain board certification within six years of employment. The clinical commitment is approximately 70%. Exotic pet emergency call isshared with one other primary care faculty.

Companion Animal Clinic is an independently owned and operated small animal veterinary practice in central Iowa.
Dr. Tammy L. Kersting opened the clinic in 1990 to serve the small community of Gilbert, located within minutes of Ames and Iowa State University.
Since that time, the clinic has expanded to a custom built facility and now maintains a client list of several thousand pet owners from around central Iowa. The clinic is fast paced and busy enough for three full-time veterinarians.
