We are seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician (1-2 years experience as a CVT preferred)to join our five doctor AAHA accredited practice located in Roscoe Village on the north-side of Chicago.

Applicant must be self-motivated, work well as part of a team or independently. CVT must also be proficient in all technical skills. Including but not limited to dosage calculations, administering anesthesia, surgical assistance and patient monitoring, dental prophylaxis, dental radiography, digital radiology, laboratory skills (urinalysis, fecal analysis, basic cytology, differentials, chemistry tests), venipuncture, catheter placement, administering medications, bandaging, and client education. Experience with Class IV Laser and Stem Cell therapy is a plus.

RVAH is open seven days a week; morning, evening and weekend shifts required.

Job Summary:
The Biologic Resources Laboratory is seeking (2) Veterinary Technician (s) I. The Veterinary Technician I position functions independently within a laboratory research environment and expected to support individual cases, studies, or special projects with minimal oversight. The Veterinary Technician I works to supply para-professional assistance to other veterinary technician(s), veterinarians, or investigator staff in the areas of anesthesiology, diagnostic laboratory procedures, antibody production, preventive health program, environmental enrichment, etc. Similar services are provided to investigators depending upon the needs of their experimental protocols.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications Required:
• Successful completion of a veterinary technology program accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).
• Current certification as a Veterinary Technician by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
• One (1) year (12 months) of paramedical veterinary experience comparable to that performed at the Veterinary Technician (General) level of this series or in other positions of comparable responsibility.
