Leyi Wang, DVM, PhD, DACVM

Leyi Wang is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and a clinical assistant professor in the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory and Department of Veterinary Clinical Medicine at the University of Illinois (U of I) College of Veterinary Medicine in Urbana-Champaign.

Before joining U of I in 2017, Dr. Wang worked for the Ohio Department of Agriculture as a research scientist in its Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory. He was a research associate in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Cincinnati’s Children’s Hospital. Dr. Wang completed his post-doctoral research at the Department of Infectious Diseases at the University of Georgia in 2010.

 Dr. Wang holds a Ph.D. from Ohio State University in Columbus; a master’s degree from China Agricultural University, Beijing; and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Shandong Agricultural University, Tai’an, China. He is also a certified Diplomate through the American College of Veterinary Microbiologists specializing in virology.
