How to Get Involved

Explore our active committees and task forces by clicking on their names below to view detailed descriptions. When you're ready to raise your hand, simply fill out the ISVMA Volunteer Interest Form. Most appointments are annual and run through December 31, with a few positions defined by the ISVMA Constitution.

All meetings are held via video conference, making it easy to participate from anywhere. Most groups meet monthly in the evening (7 PM or 8 PM), unless otherwise noted.

Current Opportunities to Serve

Legislative Committee

Shape ISVMA’s positions on legislation, administrative rules, and regulatory actions. Meets once annually in person (December or January).

CVT Committee

Creates education, networking, and value-driven opportunities for Certified Veterinary Technicians.

DEI Working Committee

Develops sustainable programs that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the veterinary profession.

Education Committee

Plans the ISVMA Convention and CE sessions; supports regional education initiatives. Meets as needed.

Membership Committee

Promotes member benefits and engages new DVM and CVT graduates.

Member Relations Committee

Explores strategies to strengthen and support the veterinary workforce.

Student Engagement Committee

Builds stronger connections between University of Illinois veterinary students and ISVMA.

ISVMA Standing Committees

Audit Committee

Includes the ISVMA Treasurer and two members appointed by the Board President. Meets in May.

Executive Committee

Comprised of ISVMA Officers. Meets monthly.

Nominations & Awards Committee

Constitutionally defined membership. Meets once or twice during summer.
